This is my second year offering Lavender Farm sessions in Woodinville WA and they were magical! Sessions can be used for family portraits, maternity sessions, or in this case – a purple-themed birthday photo shoot. The lavender is in full bloom in mid-July, which is when I recommend booking. However the same farm has an area of sunflowers that are in bloom into early August.

The client booked a flower farm session for her daughter’s birthday. Because purple is her favorite color, the lavender setting was perfect, along with her purple hair! We shot at golden hour to get the gorgeous backlighting.

It’s common for girls and women to wear white or neutral-colored dresses at this location, as it complements the florals and farm-setting. I do include a style guide with all appointments, and am available to give styling feedback before your shoot if requested.

I will often include black and white copies of my favorite photographs, especially those with particularly great lighting and contrast.

The flower farm is about a 45 minute drive from Seattle, and sessions are offered here in July and early August. Nearby is a Christmas Tree farm, and I’m delighted to offer holiday minis there in November. Both are offered as specials on particular dates during the year.
